This little bugger caught me off guard as I attempted to pass through the back door onto the deck. After regaining a semblance of reality, I grabbed my camera and got real close, switching to macro mode. I kept an eye on this critter in the viewfinder, as I monkeyed around with camera settings and was shocked to see it’s head swivel from a downward position to looking right at me! This may be (ha!) the first time I felt so intimidated by a bug that eats other bugs (I am not aware of a Preying Mantis eating people).
